Adina (עֲדִינָה) is a Hebrew name meaning "delicate," "refined," or "gentle." The masculine Adin appears in the Hebrew Bible (Ezra 2:15). The name carries the sense of someone with refined sensibilities and a gentle spirit.
Adina is widely used in modern Israel and in observant Jewish families across the diaspora. The Donizetti opera L'elisir d'amore (1832) features Adina as one of the great soprano roles.
Adina reduces to one — the number of refined singularity.
