Brunhilda combines the Old German brunia (armor) and hild (battle). **Queen Brunhilda of Austrasia (c. 543-613)** was the Visigothic-Frankish queen — wife of King Sigebert I, regent for her son and grandsons through five decades of brutal power politics. Eventually executed by being dragged behind a wild horse.
Distinct from the Norse Valkyrie Brunhild of the Nibelungenlied.
Brunhilda reduces to seven — the number of Frankish queen.
