Cut is the Acehnese honorific for a noblewoman. **Cut Nyak Dhien (1848-1908)** was the **Acehnese guerrilla leader** who fought the Dutch in the Aceh War (1873-1904) for **30 years** after her first husband was killed by the Dutch in 1878. **The longest war of resistance against the Dutch colonial empire in Indonesia**, sustained largely through her leadership. Eventually captured in 1905, she died in exile in Java in 1908.
**Indonesian national hero — honored on the 10,000 rupiah note.**
Cut reduces to three — the number of Acehnese resistance.
