Indradevi combines the Sanskrit Indra and devi (goddess). The Khmer queen and chief consort of King Jayavarman VII — the great builder of the Khmer Empire who built Angkor Thom and the Bayon. A renowned Sanskrit scholar and Buddhist devotee, Indradevi taught at the royal court and composed the famous Phimeanakas inscription mourning her sister Jayarajadevi (the king's first wife). One of the few female-authored inscriptions in the Khmer corpus.
Featured in Khmer royal inscriptions.
Indradevi reduces to two — the number of Khmer queen-scholar.
