Ishita (ईशिता) comes from the Sanskrit īśa (lord) — with the feminine ending, meaning "mistress," "sovereign," or "one who desires." It is one of the eight perfections (siddhi) in Hindu philosophy.
Ishita is enormously popular in India. The Indian actress Ishita Dutta is a contemporary bearer. In the U.S. it remains in the Indian diaspora.
Ishita reduces to seven — the number of sovereign desire.
