Qing (清) is the Mandarin word for "clear," "pure," or the blue-green of pristine water. Also 青 (the blue-green color of nature). The Qing dynasty (1644-1912) was the last imperial dynasty of China.
Tu Youyou (born 1930) — Nobel Prize laureate for artemisinin — uses Qing's medicinal heritage.
Qing reduces to eight — the number of Chinese purity.
