Talia comes from the Hebrew Tal-Ya (טַלְיָה), composed of tal (dew) and Yah (a short form of the name of God) — meaning "dew of God" or "morning dew." The image of dew in Hebrew tradition is one of freshness, blessing, and the gentle gifts of morning.
Talia is also used in Italian as a name derived from the Greek Thalia (one of the three Graces and one of the nine Muses, meaning "blooming"). The two origins have braided in modern English use. Today Talia sits in the U.S. top 350 and is rising.
Talia reduces to nine — the number of compassion and quiet wisdom.
