Šauška (also Shaushka) was the **Hurrian goddess of love, fertility, and war** — sister of the storm-god Teshub, **counterpart to the Mesopotamian Ishtar/Inanna**. **Personal goddess of Puduhepa, the great Hittite queen**, who included her in the Treaty of Kadesh. **Famous for the legend in which she was sent to the Egyptian pharaoh Amenhotep III to heal him** — the statue of Ishtar of Nineveh that traveled to Egypt is recorded in the Amarna letters.
Featured throughout Hurrian, Hittite, and Assyrian iconography.
Šauška reduces to nine — the number of Hurrian Ishtar.
